    Former U.S. solicitor general Theodore B. Olson and David Boies, who argued opposite each other in Bush v. Gore, are now teaming up to “represent two same-sex couples filing suit after being denied marriage licenses [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Their suit, to be filed in U.S. District Court in California, calls for an injunction against the proposition, allowing [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].” The American Foundation for Equal Rights, which is leading the case, notes that it is the first time that Olson and Boies have “served alongside each other as co-counsel.” “For a long time I’ve personally felt that we are doing a grave injustice for people throughout this country by [Only registered and activated users can see links. ],” Olson told The Advocate in an interview.     A couple of years ago, a Republican committee staff director told me candidly (and proudly) what the method was to all this obstruction and disruption. Should Republicans succeed in obstructing the Senate from doing its job, it would further lower Congress’s generic favorability rating among the American people. By sabotaging the reputation of an institution of government, the party that is programmatically against government would come out the relative winner.

    Not a miracle, but rather an example of what lawyers do - they take cases and argue the best they can on behalf of the clients best interests. Lawyers are paid to win cases.
