Rand Paul's bill made sense??? WTF???

Somebody help me here to understand how it is that Rand Paul and 14 other Repuke Senators came out looking good in this bill. Is this more upside-down world or what?? Did the bill have some other rotten crap attached to it that prevented the Dems from supporting it?

Earlier today an amendment proposed by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) that would have prevented Food and Drug Administration agents from carrying guns and from raiding farms without warrants, was voted down on the Senate floor by 78 senators. These 15 senators, meanwhile, supported the amendment. Not a single one is a Democrat:

    Kelly Ayotte (R-NH)

    John Boozman (R-AR)

    Jim Coburn (R-OK)

    John Cornyn (R-TX)

    Mike Crapo (R-ID)

    Jim DeMint (R-SC)

    Mike Johanns (R-NE)

    Ron Johnson (R-WI)

    Mike Lee (R-UT)

    Rand Paul (R-KY)

    Jim Risch (R-ID)

    John Thune (R-SD)

    Pat Toomey (R-PA)

    David Vitter (R-LA)

    Roger Wicker (R-MS)

Paul's amendment to the Prescription Drug User Fee Act has two parts: Part I would allow the makers of health products to advertise their benefits. "There’s no earthly reason why somebody who markets prune juice can’t advertise it helps with constipation," Paul said. Part II of the amendment would prohibit FDA employees (as well as all other Health and Human Services employees) from carrying weapons and making arrests without warrants.

that would have prevented Food and Drug Administration agents from carrying guns and from raiding farms without warrants,
This art I understand. The Repukes don't want their factory farms raided.

What authority would have jurisdiction to monitor the claims of benefits in order to protect the consumer? This bill may eliminate regulations that are meant to protect the consumer. Repigs want to restore "beware buyer", making the responsibility of the consumer to determine if the benfit claims are true or false.

If they are health products, then they are regulated by the FDA. Any claims they make must be supported or it's simple false advertising.

Then this pretty much boils down to protecting 'false advertising' by the Repukes, correct?

Why can't any FDA raid still be effective without the need for firearms? I'm fairly sure that any suspect risky raid would take place with the support from local law enforcers.
