    What Winning Means To Obama

Here's why nobody can figure out how Obama does what he does: they're used to the usual, self-serving games most Presidents play; the same games Bush and Clinton and Bush and Reagan played. Those are zero sum games; someone wins, someone loses. We've all been corrupted; we think that's how it's supposed to work, because that's how it's worked for the last thirty years. But that's not the right way to govern.

Obama doesn't care whether the Democrats or Republicans win or lose such games. He's not playing. He's busy governing, like we elected him to. For him, winning or losing means an idea works to help the US or it doesn't. The economy gets better, or it doesn't. That's winning or losing to him.

The Republicans have gradually, over the last twenty or thirty years, given up all the good ideas. Given up the idea of winning by making it better for everybody, not just one class or another. Obama's the first Democrat in quite a while who's taken them at face value. And by doing so, showed they're bankrupt; all they want to do is win elections. It's right out there in front of everybody, and it's the narrative I've been pushing that Schumer and others have been talking about.

What Obama's doing doesn't make sense any other way.

    Think about it.

In your face politics ... like in WI ... we're going to run fake democrats ... IN YOUR FACE ... and see if you will vote for us and what did WI do 64% said go fuck yourselves, I'm suprised it wasn't higher. But 64% is 64%. We can account for the 1% Richest voting Repigs, but the other 35% are still brainwashed.

Obama stands for Democrats he's just more patient. He'll win 2012.

Right about now, I suspect a Speaker Pelosi would get all the House members on the record with a straight debt ceiling increase bill, nothing other than that.

It wouldn't have worked two years ago, nor at any time I can think of back to 2000. Hopefully the electorate will remain intelligent for a little while; bad economic times have a way of concentrating the attention. How important is it if some gays are getting it on in their bedroom next door when you didn't have enough to eat today? It's a shame that's what it takes, but the average IQ is 100.

Unfortunately it didn't seem as good an idea in 2010 as it does today. That's how we got here.
