If Lyndon Johnson were President. . .

. . . he would invite Lieberman to the Oval Office where he would grab him by the neck, slam him against a wall and say, "You little prick, you'd better do the right thing or I'll make your life so fukkin miserable you'll kill yourself!"

Johnson was known to have done exactly that to a few people. And he knew where a lot of bodies were buried so nobody wanted to cross him or complain about his bullying.

LBJ was very big and very much a bully. Rather openly as I recall. Someone in the audience once insulted him when he was campaigning for my former congressman (Hugh Carey) back in the 60s in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. He turned red as a beet and threatened to "come down there and kick the shit out of you!"

I don't expect Obama to emulate LBJ's bullying tactics, but the problem is he is far too opposite of that style. He doesn't push anyone. When that congressman shouted, "You lie," at him, he reacted passively. So what can we expect from him?

Isn't it ironic though that the President's style was what helped get him elected has know gotten him into trouble?

Speaking of DLC Emanuel, he's more interested in bustin' the ppl's heads over corp pig's heads. Take it from Christopher Blair, of PHIMG.org, he seems to have these Blue Bastard's number.

But as Howard Dean, Wendell Potter, and PNHP have all pointed out, the senate bill is nothing more than an expensive giveaway to big insurance. Beyond that, it is a huge f**k you to the Progressive base. Progressives - you know them - they are the people who helped Obama win the Democratic nomination and got him elected President. This is part of Rahm Emmanuel's "f**k the base" strategy for 2010 - water down the bill at the behest of industry, but do it in a way that really spits in the eyes of Progressives, and then blame them for the predictable negative electoral outcomes. We've seen this play out before. Soon enough history will repeat itself and anonymous high ranking White House officials will be quoted in the press blasting the damned "progressive purists" for the Midterm losses.

This is the modus operandi of the conservative DLC - a political machine no less fearsome than Tammany Hall, that has been in control the Democratic party nationally for decades. For the DLC it's never about good policy or the public interest, it is not even about electoral results. The goal is to abuse the progressive base so much that they give up any remaining control they have in the party and run off to the welcoming arms of hopeless third party candidates.

We need to target low-information Generation Obama types. To wake them up, and to get them to realize as soon as possible the inconvenient truth -- they may have voted for a "Hope" and "Change" Obama but the White House is controlled by the DLC Rahm Emmanuel. It's Clinton 2.0 - a presidential administration that leaves big business stronger, Progressives fuming, and the middle class left out in the cold.

6/12 - Romney's record at Bain "Sterling"~ praised Bill Clinton

    From 'the President's Club':
*After Nixon died, Clinton compared the death with the loss of his mother
*Clinton came to rely on Nixon’s advice
*Nixon ingratiated himself with so many of his successors, particularly Mr. Clinton.
*George H.W. Bush’s ... relationship with Bill Clinton has grown so close
*Clinton is now referred to in the Bush family as the “Brother From Another Mother”
*Mr. Clinton / George W. Bush, who have become unexpectedly close and also worked on joint endeavors
