This has got to be the most screwed up thing I ever posted.
If there is a war in Iran and Cheney gets offed when he goes to Iraq in June and
you got extra cash. You might be able to get a lot of dinari if it really hits the fan.:SHF:
This was in Newsweek (no links, I am way too lazy) that noted that this is an event that can not be accounted for.
The scenario noted that Cheney's death could/would have Bush doing some serious saber rattling to the point of threatening a wider nuclear strike. The Israelis and Brits back us and the Russians and possibly Chinese back Iran.
The markets drop and soon close. This could be the mother of all market bottoms.
Cheney is leaving for Iraq in June. By mid May I am fully into cash.
I hope this does not happen. I personally prefering seeing Cheney, Bush and company stand for their war crimes in the Hague.
That said, I am keeping alert.

Not too mention being real, real frugal. Killing debt is a good thing to do when cash is king.

Bull markets! There will be no uncertainty of who Cheney is going to attack next.

Bull markets! There will be no uncertainty of who Cheney is going to attack next.
but if it does happen in Iraq when Cheney visits in June, this would be an event that could spiral out of control. This cannot be accounted for.
It could also mean an extreme short term bear market.

Economics is my weak suit.
Someone explain "bull" and "bear" to me again.
And put it against a backdrop of a 401K, if you would. You know, those corporate-to-corporate subsidies that the government doesn't let us touch?

A "bull market" is a market where investors feel optimistic. The market is usually going up.
A "bear market" is a market where investors feel pessimistic. The market is going down.
If you are in a bull market, you might want stocks that are growth stocks that have a high upside for gains. Industrial stocks in strong industies, home builders and retail stocks are often seen as desireable.
If you are in a bear market, you might want stocks that a very safe. Super market, food, utility stocks are the norm.

The simple memory device I used to associate the two was that the bull was domesticated and the bear was not.
I got actually 2 401ks, which are soon to be combined.
That's it and a small checking account.

I've pulled completely out of the stock market awaiting the impending crash the next 18 months. I plan to then buy the cheap stocks that will go up up up when a Democrat is elected in '08. Then we will see the stock market zoom up like it did under Bill Clinton.

I consider the spelling of a "bear" market to be a "bare" market... not much upward movement.
A "bull" market is the opposite of a "bare"... er... "bear" market.
I don't think Cheney will be assassinated if he goes to Iraq. He'll travel in a "rhino," and he'll be heavily guarded.
