Oh you have got to be kidding - protecting his wife and kids? Some kids in a car crashed into his fence and ran, and he goes after them with a gun? If he had been my husband, I would have locked the door on him and called the cops to go pick him up. He had no business playing vigilante and endangering the people in that area by carrying a gun. cripes!

Hackett knows how to handle a weapon. He is a lawyer. He knows that the situation might have inviolved a stolen car, possibly linked to another crime. It is his duty to identify, if he can, persons who pose a threat to the community. I think he knows not to engage with deadly fire unless fired on, in which case, the perps need to be neutralized.

Gang bangers are as bold as they are because they know they are not likely to be shot in a lot of places.
