New Jersey lawmakers on Thursday approved the civil union bill, putting same-sex couples within a pen's stroke of acquiring the rights and benefits of marriage.
At the same time, Governor Corzine and powerful legislators declared that after a law is in place, they would be open to an amendment granting gay activists what they have sought: the word "marriage" itself

This thread brings to my mind a line from an old Firesign Theatre record:
"Civilization Ho!"
(Meaning more or less let's drive this wagon train out of the wilderness.)

You might also think that if someone got as far as say the office of the vice President that person might feel it's his duty to speak out for the acceptance of same sex couples in our society, especially since his own daughter has lived in one for about 15 years.
Of course if he was in Nazi Germany he would have just sent her off to a concentration camp.
Maybe his internal conflicts is why he gets drunk and shoots a friend.:hunter:
