Photos are great, but now I want to see some art. Some of you have seen these a Brazilian times, but many of the newer folks haven't.
Basically just a random bunch of drawings and paintings, ranging from doodle to sold work.
I thought I'd start with a few more recent works, then show you some of my older stuff...
These first two I did last summer, on my patio porch, where I do most of my painting these days...
Patio stairs...

An old painting, but I used it as part of my Graphics Design class last semester, where the project was to design a book cover. It came out great except I spelled Metamorphosis wrong. :o

A doodle from my Graphics Design sketch book. I was supposed to be studying different fonts of the letter "R" but my mind wandered...

A photoshop (actually MS Paint) of the newest movie of the summer...:D

A more recent surrealist work, based on a dream i had. I'm thinking of calling this "The Hall of the Transcended" :D

And lastly, wot the heck, a photo of the artist at work...

Thanks Dan, and everyone else...
Here's a few more of my old surreal ones. I was big into this type of painting back in college, and was reading a lot of stuff like Sartre, and Herman Hesse, so there's a bit of an existential influence in these.
Warning tho, they are kinda creepy...
One of my best, entitled "Sleeping With the Fishes", a professional artist friend of mine from another board owns the original drawing for this...

This one is called "The Resurrection" after the Tolstoy story...

I forgot what I titled this one, but I painted it right after reading "The Master and Margarita" by Bulgakov...

Finally a little more joyful one to finish this set. This one's called "If This were August; This would be Perfect." Sorry for the bad photo, it a scan of an old newspaper article, but it's hard to photograph since this painting is huge (five feet by ten)...

Another view of it...

Very nice work indeed.
You were in 'Brasilian Times' ?
Are you Portuguese?

How many's a Brazilian?
Sorry, couldn't resist.
No I've never been to Brazil and I'm of Irish/ French/ Lithuanian heritage. The "Chair City" refers to my home town of Gardner, MA which was once a furniture manufacturing center. Now mostly just a bunch of empty factories.
Thanks for the compliments tho. :happy0122[1]:

Another student work from my art school days, just a some Railroad tracks under a highway bridge from my hometown....

And lastly, a couple of abstracts. I love abstract art, but rarely paint it myself. These were based on the I-Ching actually. I wanted to do a series based on the sixty-four hexagrams, but these are the only two I ever completed. I forget what the second one was, but the first one I believe is "Wind over Mountain" (advancing)...

Thanks. the photo is a lot "brighter and colorful" than the original since it was taken outdoors in bright sunlight, so the camera pickuped a lot of reflections of the paint that would normally be more subtle...
Still, I like it too. :hi2:
