YAY! After seeing it referenced for years on the Internet, I finally bought a copy. Looks good.

Enders Game is really good.

The author has a gift of conveying emotion very well. And the book is both well written and well plotted.

I just got My Life by Bill Clinton from the library.... it's nice to read the patented Clinton charm and wit again.

Ah, you'll have to let me know how it is.

What is it about?

A sci-fi about a gifted kid who is 'the one" (for lack of a better term) to fight off an alien invasion. I'm not exactly sure yet. I am only on the first chapter. So far, it seems a bit Matrixy, with the monitoring thing in the back of his head and being the one.

But, from what I have seen on the Internet there is a lot more to it than just the sci-fi. Sociology and other more profound things. I see references to it fairly often. I'm not reading so much for the sci-fi as I am for other more profound things about life.

There are actually several books in the series. It involves politics as well as Ender's life. Very good read. I would highly recommend all of them.

Cool thanks I haven't read a good sci fi book in ages. I have been usually sticking for dnd novels for my fiction. I know I am sad that way

dnd? As in Dungeons & Dragons?

I still have most of my old AD&D stuff. They probably aren't even useful anymore since I think they made some big overhauls on the ruleset. Haven't played in ages.

Ya know what sci-fi series I thought was really good. The adventures of Flinx and his mighty minidrag Pip.

Flinx was genetically engineered by the Meliorare society to be empathic. All Meliorare experiments and results were eventually terminated. But not Flinx. Somehow he survived.

I love the whole series of Flinx books. The empathy I can relate to.

1st book: For Love of Mother Not by Alan Dean Foster

It's kind of D&Dish, but Sci-Fi.

If you ever played Gamma World, it's kinda like that.

DO NOT REVEAL the story... to those who don't know about the book... just read it or look for the audiobook.

this book is to be EXPERIENCED not RELATED...

& to those who call me paranoid before they read it, they should read Ender's Game ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) & get a sense of metaphorical lyricism...

Thanks Blu.

Yeah, I am just realizing there may be more than meets the eye. I'm about half-way thru. Really good book so far.
