I don't have the extact details because I saw this on C-Span just a little bit ago, but the vote failed by the 2/3rds rule.

Children’s health program veto upheld, again

The House Democratic leadership again failed to win over enough Republicans to undo President Bush’s veto of a children’s health insurance bill Wednesday.

The 260-152 vote fell short of the two-thirds majority needed to override the veto on the measure, which would have added $35 billion to the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) and, Democrats assert, provided health benefits to 10 million children.

A group of 42 Republicans joined with 218 of the House Democrats in voting to override the veto.

The name of the Bill is appalling...SChip.

Could it be the Govt program will someday inject chips under the skin of poor children for identity and valid citizenship purposes?

That is how programs have been introduced to hidren for the past 30 yrs...'word and symbol conditioning'.

So, I'm dubious.

I certainly believe that someday in the future, micro chips will be planted in humans and under the guise that it's in everyone's best interest.... safety and security.

As far as SCHIP being the pioneer for such 'tagging' of humans, I can't say it is or isn't. All things are possible at this point in time.

The government can't spend a few billion on children's health care, but it can blow mulitbillions to save Bush's butt with the economy. There is something seriously wrong with this picture. Not to mention the obscene billions that have been blown on the war. I guess our kids are not worth as much as killing the kids in Iraq. :stupid-1:
