Huh? WHy post this trash here? I am sure they have marched in gay pride parades. Who cares?

Anyway, so members of NAMBLA may have been in the parade. How where they to know? I doubt there was a NAMBLA float!

Trying to link a gay pride parade to NAMBLA is sick.

I've been told NAMBLA hasn't been allowed (as a group) in a gay parade since the 80's.

If that group of sickos is still being let into parades Pelosi a/o Sen. Clinton aren't the only ones who have screwed up big time.

BTW I posted this "trash" here because if anyone knows whether or not NAMBLA has been kept out of parades since the 80's chances are this person is part of the gay community.

That's great.

Do you know anything about the parades outside of chicago like say in a state either of the Senators are from?

If not see your own quote.

Egads, back to your cages, all three of you!

First, I'd rather have a group like NAMBLA openly advocating for a change in consent laws, and have an open and mature debate on child suffrage and emancipation, than have a sexual predator in the closet! It is the kind of attitude you three are presenting in spades which prevents discussion outright--something I consider to be anti-democratic and anti-liberal. Wouldn't you rather know that your 16 year old son was considering having a relationship with an older man than having him do it behind your back?

Second, NAMBLA is an element of the GLBT movement, and you don't get to pick and choose who is gay. Just like you don't get to pick and choose who is a Democrat. So linking NAMBLA to the GLBT movement is NOT sick. It's simply FACTUAL. There are all sorts of groups in the movement, people, and a lot of them hold beliefs you as individuals probably do not. Heck, the BDSM community gets a float, and so does the sex-positive movement, and neither has widespread community acceptance even amongst GLBTs! And it's not like I become the same as others who I march with--last time I checked, I am still not a lesbian on a motorcycle.

Third, why does the topic automatically bring out the profanity and anger? I think some people need to seriously self-examine here. This is an adult topic, and if you can't treat it with at least some respect and behave like mature human beings, I strongly suggest you sit this one out. And I don't care what demons you have in your past--deal with them, for the love of God. We'll help if you need it--we are liberals after all.

People develop at different rates. Affective development is just as variable as cognitive development. There are young people out there with the self-awareness and the maturity to accept the mantle of adulthood before they cross the 18-year old finish line. And there are people in their thirties and beyond who shouldn't be making decisions for themselves, let alone for others. Who the hell are you to make blanket decisions for them? Don't you see that a better system is needed?

Get over yourselves. It's much better to have these discussions in the open. And if you broaden your perspective just an inch, you might come to some shocking realizations that you couldn't have considered before.

Closets are for clothes, people! And please, start acting like adults!

there is nothing wrong with being ruled by passions sometimes--please do not dictate to me how to post--never had a problem before--don't live in a cage--I was just stating in my 1st post not to rip pelosi and clinton for not knowing

Hey, maturity isn't for everyone.

And thanks for responding to the points in my post. :sarcasm:

If you would like a less-sensitive topic to cut your teeth on, I suggest you consider the plight of the ex-convict. That is another segment of society subjected to broad generalizations, intense hatred, and prejudice. And it's a segment of society anyone can suddenly join, too.

don't tell me what to respond to--you are not the token homo here pal! last time I checked I was entitled to my opinion regardless if people agree with it or not--that is the point of this board--and DO NOT insult me and tell me what topics to cut my teeth on--I have posted well over 2000 on the RR board and others--I'm not some novice

sorry jerr--nothing else to say unless I continued to be insulted--treated as if I am uneducated or made to feel inferior [Admin Edit.] (and this comes from a bitchy lesbo--so don't play the gay card )

Wouldn't you rather know that your 16 year old son was considering having a relationship with an older man than having him do it behind your back? If and when I would hope my child knows that it is wrong to have a relationship at 16 w/ a 52 y.o

But NAMBLA promotes something is is illegal

I don't need help--this is they way I express my self when I am FUCKING PISSED--they are just words--get over it

at 16 you should not be flirting or having a sexual conversation with a 53 y.o.

Get over yourselves. It's much better to have these discussions in the open. And if you broaden your perspective just an inch, you might come to some shocking realizations that you couldn't have considered before.
as a liberal future parent (in the next year) my child will be able to express him/herself-but not online with someone old enough to be his/her grandpa

I am an adult--spoke to many of my gay male friends back home and they agree that NAMBLA is pretty fucked up
