Here's the Deal: The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has the independent responsibility to examine and determine how much any bill going through Congress will cost the taxpayers. That figure becomes the "SCORE" and, if that number is a cost, then the bill has got to also offset that cost by raising our finding a like amount of revenue or savings. It's like you hiring an additional employee; you have to pay for it to make it work.
Over the past many years, it seems that the PBM's (Pharmacy Benefit Managers (i.e. Insurance Companies)) have been able to pretty well dictate the "SCORE" of any pharmacy bill to the CBO. If they received any input from the pharmacy world it just never showed up in the astronomical costs associated with the pharmacy related bills. So, ACP*CN is trying to figure the best way to get the pharmacy side of the story into the minds of the CBO operatives - and here's what they have come up with as the best way to get to the CBO - HAVE CERTAIN SUPPORTIVE CONGRESSPERSONS GO TO CBO ON BEHALF OF THE PHARMAICES!!!
We need lots of you to call your key congersspersons and tell them the following:
PLEASE get in touch with the Congressional Budget Office and inform them that you want ALL SIDES of HR971 TO BE HEARD in determining the HR971 SCORE!
