NASHVILLE - The leader of a campaign promoting passage of a gay-marriage ban in Tennessee says that out-of-state homosexual activists are expected to spend millions of dollars to defeat the proposal in Tennessee. "Today, it's estimated that fully $4 million to $6 million will be spent in Tennessee by pro-homosexual individuals and organizations to defeat the marriage amendment," writes state Sen. David Fowler, R-Signal Mountain, in a fund-raising letter.
Randy Tarkington, manager of a group campaigning to defeat the proposed amendment to the Tennessee constitution, says Fowler's contention is "ridiculous."
"There are some days we'd be thrilled with $4,000 to $6,000," said Tarkington.
"It's so typical of their tactics. Basically, they're saying, 'Let's scare people so they'll give us money,' " said Tarkington, manager of Vote No On One. (snip) ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
what is interesting to note is that in the same section of the paper as this article is this full quarter-page advertisement...

Which means the anti-gay marriage crowd is pulling out all the stops and opening up with their big guns to get this amendment passed.
The "Vote No on One" people will need all the help they can get.
