There..... it.... is. The GOP shoots down the 'accountability' Act that protected the likes of Halliburton. Now if the Dems doesn't use this as their roll model example of the most corrupt administration and Congress in our history as elections approaches, then folks, we do have serious problem in DC under the Dem leadership. This bill and it's final votes should be plastered on millions of billboards across this nation!!! It should be brought up in every tv news report!! It should appear in mag articles until we throw up from seeing so much about it!!! This my, good friends, is exactly why our country has gone to HELL! Come on Dems, you intorduced the bill, it was shot down by the Repukes, now lets use it on them!!!! It's living proof that they are corrupt up to their eyeballs!!!

GOP Kills Bill to Police Halliburton

Republicans in Congress have made it clear they're willing to fight for military contractors' right to lie, cheat and defraud taxpayers.
In an effort to stop companies like Halliburton and its subsidiaries from cheating our troops and stealing from Americans, Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., introduced and attached it to the Defense Authorization bill currently being debated in the Senate. The bill was intended to improve contracting "by eliminating fraud and abuse and improving competition in contracting and procurement."
Dorgan's bill -- cosponsored by 17 Democrats and called the Honest Leadership and Accountability in Contracting Act of 2006 -- was tabled by a roll call vote of 55-43, effectively rejecting the amendment. Every single Senate Republican voted against the measure to make the contracting process honest and impose penalties on those who break the law.
