Yesterday, Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) held a briefing to attempt to garner support for his proposed legislation, S. 2754: the Alternative Pluripotent Stem Cells Therapies Enhancement Act.
As we have from the moment that the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act (H.R. 810) passed the House with strong bipartisan support, coupled with the fact that nearly three-quarters of Americans support embryonic stem cell research, PAN continues to reinforce the importance of passing H.R. 810, with no amendments and no alternatives.
We believe that attempts to divert attention away from the passage of H.R. 810 and slow the progress of promising research must not be tolerated by the patient or scientific community.
Please contact your Senators and urge them to support bringing the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act (H.R. 810) to the Senate floor for a vote with no amendments and no alternatives as soon as possible.
