I'm glad to see a forum for those who wish to find Dems with spines!
However, it never fails..... I look over the list of "issues", and have yet to find "POVERTY" Are those of us in this hell of poverty completely overlooked by "liberals" and "progressives"?
Is there nowhere we can find a spot to land without having to point out the necessity for it?
Especially after the Superdome and Convention Center and watching people, day after day, suffer and die because of poverty, I'm not only amazed, but deeply distressed at this lack of vision for those of us who *used* to be considered part of the liberal pack.
Is there *anywhere* left for us?

Well said. I'm a democrat because they were the only party that gave a voice to the voiceless. The idea that a free market will protect everyone is bullshit, it will protect those with the capitol that drives the market. Union workers, the poor, the elderly ... anyone without a voice is the base of the dems. We need to remember this and keep our battle cry for the mid-terms, hey we gave them 4 years in charge of everything and look how bad they fucked it up for you. We will reinstitute government for all the people and kill government for the rich people.
I'll stop by your Poverty forum. Post something there.

Thanks for your welcome and kind words, dr. I saw that there was a new category for "poverty", and just went to post something there, but it seems to have quickly disappeared.
sigh....
I'm afraid I'm fresh out of struggle.

Well, thanks for letting me know.
That's part of the problem.....POVERTY is a separate issue, and will *never* receive any readership hidden away.
So, this will now be buried, also.
This is a big part of my saddness, and my giving up with politics.
Thanks for letting me know.

I left a reference to the topic on the original forum.
Unfortunately, we cannot have separate topics for every issue mentioned due to space, which costs. We're doing our best, however.
And if you give up because of this issue, who's going to lose? Think about it.

Thanks for that bit of sensitivity. geeeeeeeez.....
Y'know, I've already lost. i'm homeless, with nowhere to go, I've tried posting about the budget cuts (which are going on AGAIN, NOW!), on "librul" forums, with zero response. It's been made abundantly clear that poverty just isn't on your agenda.
That's fine -- you get to make your priorities.
But don't try to guilt me because I won't spend ooodles of time posting where nobody will even see it, let alone bother to respond.
Yes, I've thought about it, thank you. And it hurts.
so long......

I think he was being sensitive to your feelings. DW is a new forum and does not has the donor base to accomplish everything yet. Once the forum gets moving and gets more hits and donor revenue there will be more money to work with. For now though, if you are interested in the forum, please stick around to discuss you issue. It can only help. I don;t think it was guilt, if anything I think the mods and admins feel guilty that they don't have the funds to deliver the perfect forum yet.
Stick around for awhile. You won;t be sorry.

Well-stated, Dr. Thanks.
