After 5 years for something that is a necessity thanks to the excessively high prices of medical care, things are definitely out of sync.

We can offshore the medical profession -- until the cost of gasoline makes this impracticable and/or nobody in America is left to be able to perform or give a crap about performing.

We can put in laws that are geared to help those who don't make $100k/yr (which is 99% of the American public).

We can stop paying for services, en masse. (good luck...)

We can put plastic bags over our heads and end it all (again, good luck...)

How do we convince the powers that be that excessive costs are anti-American? (and all this ties into every other issue that is crippling America right now.)

At what point does "restoring America's superiority" mean more than a bunch of words, while actions which only ruin America's superiority get any merit?

Our elected officials are either dim or insincere about all the issues that are ruining America. If they are insincere, why not tell us outright what is going on? Why the lies and tricks? And if they are dim, shouldn't the public be demanding a recall?

And the number of people I've surveyed, nobody wants to do a damn thing EXCEPT complain. Which means nobody really cares, so in the end, why should I care? I'm better off doing what I can to save my bacon because I don't want to give a shit about people who don't give a shit.

End of rant.

The biggest threat to this country is not terrorism or Iran, its a declining access to healthcare. We are all going to die of something treatable because we can't afford to go to the doctor. Managed Care has failed to decrease healthcare costs, yet we keep pouring money into managed care. The Medical Savings Accounts are a joke. Yet when I mention universal care its often considered blasphemy. I wish I knew what to do.

IMHO Corporate greed. The CEO's of the big companies make millions annually. It's hogwash plain and simple. A little restructuring and there would be plenty to go around.

As long as the corporations/lobbyist control Congress, nothing good and decent will ever be available for the American people. They are simply controlled too much by the almighty dollar as opposed to their conscience and integrity. We're so screwed. :icon_sad:
