This is actor Steve Dash who played Jason in Friday the 13th Part 2.
When I posted this on his forum he contacted me and asked if he
could have it. I sent it to him and he sent me autographed pictures
and a FT13th t-shirt autographed as well. He's a real cool guy!

I posted these before in the "lost" thread, but I thought I'd post them again...Just a bunch of drawings I did around the MFA in Boston, back when i was an art student. I forgot who most of these artists were (I should have taken notes, but I was too busy drawing) Tho if you are really interested, I suppose you can find out by visiting the MFA official site...
I love this girl...

This one was of "The Good Samaritian"...

A sculpture on the main stairway...
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
A colored pencil drawing of some renesance painting, now owned by a very dear internet friend of mine...
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
And lastly, not everything in the MFA is "art" as we know it...

Enjoy, maybe tommora I'll post some of my comic art.

Very NICE!
I love the almost "photographic" use of light and color.
Well done indeed. :a075:

I like your work, good sense of light and shadow, color choices are pleasing. The good samaratin has a very lively sky and well intragrated trees blowing in the wind. The waterfountian was a good study as well. Keep working.

AHW. Don't say that. We all have our different levels of skill. There are quite a few people who I can't draw nearly as good as. In fact, I've always thought my drawing style was rather cartoony compared some of what I've seen some people do. Don't compare yourself to other artists, artists aren't "better" or "worse" than others, just different.

Right on!
BTW, what's wrong with cartoony??? :poking:
I have drawn 2 comic books... my buddy wrote them, and I illustrated them... very juvenile stuff.. and it was done 15 years ago (at least!)(Gawd I'm old!)
But, I've done sculpting (additive and subtractive... installation... modular... etc, etc, etc... ), quite a bit of painting... all sorts of drawing... studied composition, color, line, etc etc etc....
Done a LOT of work, actually...
The single most difficult thing I have ever done, without a doubt, is "cartoon" drawing! Remarkably difficult, IMO, to be "good" at it.... and those people are are very good at it have an amazing ability to convey enormous amounts of information with minimal line...
My 2 cents...
If I can find one of my old books... I'll try to scan it, or something... and put it up for you... (Incidently, I have learned a lot since then and have this idea to really do it right next time. The next book will be a factor or two better in quality.. and no less than 100 pages... although, still, probably rather juvenile and pointless! )
PS- Longrain... I really enjoyed your series "painting in progress'' ... very excellent!

Thanks. That made my day. :)
Oh, and it's Longgrain, with two "g"s, just so you know. :hi2:
OK Folks... FINALLY!
I am posting some images from my aforementioned "Comic Book"... I am not including every single page, rather I have chosen a few that seem to 'flow' well... and I'm trying to put them in 'order' so that you can get a feel for what's goin' on.
Hope you enjoy!

:party0007[1]: That was AWESOME, Icky!!!!!
Love your drawing style, Icky. And you're right, cartooning is the hardest thing in the world to do. Many a good idea has gone undrawn for lack of skill here.

Very cool. Thabks icky for bring this to my attention. I think I have an idea for a new Hangout thread soon. :icon_lol:
Icky, you need to do caricatures of the DW posters.
Thanks folks...
I'm outta here for a while...
Like I said... this work was done over 10 years ago and is rather "Base"... I have been working on the "writing" of my next comic and I intend to have at least 100 pages before I publish! Hopefully I will be able to make some advancements in technique (Pacing, scene set-up, etc...).
Icky, you need to do caricatures of the DW posters.
Good idea... I might be able to do that for many of the folks that have actually posted their pics...
(Incidently, in my comic above, all characters look just like the real people they represent... and all are done with permission!) :)
Excellent stuff, Icky. It also looks like you were getting more and more confident with your drawing as the pages progressed. That last panel with J.J. Coolfish is pretty wild.
Much thanks for sharing.

The heron / dinosaur imagery was inspired by Stephen J. Gould's theories on genetic expression, a couple of photos of aggressive birds, an article ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), (random thoughts on what might have earned a burning for a hen-keeping old medieval woman... "hey! her chickens have TEETH! burn the witch!!" & a video ([Only registered and activated users can see links])...
anyway...
The Beaver Dam was a photo from an Interior ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) canoe-camping trip in Algonquin... if anybody is ever looking for a Nature Experience (lemme tell ya, its worth it, but if you're not familiar with Interior camping, take a guided tour ([Only registered and activated users can see links])!) As it is, I have to tinker with the yellow canoe & the surface plane/angle for the paddling ripples, they're all screwed up...
Icky, you need to do caricatures of the DW posters.
but but but don't make me ugly ok? heheheh
