Sanders not backing down on tax cuts after Obama pitch
By Jordan Fabian - 12/07/10 04:08 PM ET

A leading Senate liberal on Tuesday refused to back down from his threat to filibuster the White House's deal on tax cuts after President Obama lashed out at the left for opposing it.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a self-described democratic socialist, expressed confidence he would win in a showdown with the White House over the expiring Bush tax cuts.

.
.
.

Sanders said that there is no guarantee that the tax cuts for the wealthy would go away when they expire again in two years, making the deal an even more bitter pill to swallow.

"I think this is very bad public policy ... it's bad politics as well," he said. "What makes you think in two years, that is going to change?"

Don't blame Obama. He really did get concessions from the REPIGs!

If you want to blame someone, blame the Democrats who did not vote in November.

Sen. Brown 'very unhappy' with tax cut deal
Tuesday, December 7, 2010 11:50 AM
By Jonathan Riskind
The Columbus Dispatch

Count Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio as one of the Democrats fuming about the tax cut deal struck between President Barack Obama and congressional Republicans -- but he is refraining from a vow to vote against the agreement if it reaches the Senate floor.

However, while Brown is "very unhappy" about the agreement to extend all of the Bush era tax cuts, for the middle class and wealthier Americans alike, he is still reviewing the details, said his spokeswoman, Meghan Dubyak.

Why not blame Obama? He's been all but invisible and the richest 2% were more important than the rest of us... And he didn't go to the mat for us. And the deficit is still huge.
I really think this was an easy win and he blew it.

The last 2 yrs of power on the Hill may never return to the Dems for decades. They did blow it!! They blew it because Obama wanted it his way and his way took a turn for Goober policies right after the '08 election when those BushCons started having so called briefings with him. They convinced him that he'll be taken well care of if he cooperates with them. The rest was just an act ..... another dog and pony show to fake his base out ... until this week, it all became apparently clear, when he so openly kissed the ass of Big Corp Cons during the Dem's lame duck big fizzle.

The only thing I'm hanging onto are the few good Senators and Reps who will stand up and fight both parties now .... in this bullshit political scam artists of this country. Ever wonder why Goober never slams Obama?? It's obvious why. The deal was cut post Nov 2008 and this is going just as planned. It's all by design.

Tune in to C-Span right now. It's 8:30PM EST. Sanders and Brown are both teaming in the Senate raking the Repukes over the coals over the Bush Tax Cuts. This is the fighting backbone of this party.=!!! Watch it and enjoy. Take pride in these two brave patriotic Senators, because it's rare to watch.

Today, Dec 10, Bernie Sanders began his filibuster around 10:30 AM EST and it's again covered live on C-Span. Over my lunchtime, Mary Landrieu joined Bernie with telling it like it is on the Senate floor. Now, let me make this clear. I don't care that much for her, but she made beaucoup sense today!! She admitted to have voted for Goober's Tax Cuts.... before.... but now she says that this is basically insane!! She also took a hard swing at the Repukes asking for the name of the person who thot that billionaires should get this tax cut again during this record recession. She yelled this out asking over and over who on the Repuke side wanted this stupid tax cut for the ultra rich!!!!!! So at this very moment in time, she earned my respect as a FIGHTING SENATOR today. I hope more Senators has the balls to join Bernie in this quest!!
