I've been in politics for quite a few years, and I've never seen anything like this.

Republicans are targeting no less than 14 seats held by Democrats, including Sens. Barbara Boxer, Patty Murray and Russ Feingold. President Obama's and Vice President Biden's former seats are at risk. But we're not just playing defense. Missouri, Louisiana, Ohio and Iowa - among other states - offer chances to turn red seats blue and toss out some of the worst Senate obstructionists.

As Executive Director of the DSCC, it's my job to make sure we have the resources to fight on all fronts. And I can tell you, there is no path to victory in November without a strong grassroots showing. Our more than half a million donors is what makes us strong. We need your help to win.

Our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline is June 30. We have $2,725,416 left to go. Every dollar we leave on the table means lost opportunities. We need you. Even $5 will make a difference!

Remember the passion we showed in 2008? We need that - and more - to win in November. Republican leaders have vowed to do whatever it takes to defeat us, and they will stop at nothing to derail President Obama's agenda - and his chance at re-election.

Their right-wing base is rallying around Sharron Angle in Nevada, Carly Fiorina in California and Rand Paul in Kentucky, and is showing their affection with cold, hard cash. As a guest on Rush Limbaugh's show, Angle raised $100,000 - in one hour. And the Citizens United decision could provide Republicans with an unlimited stream of corporate support.

That's the bad news. Here's the good news: Across the country, we have a number of chances to add to our majority. In Missouri, Secretary of State Robin Carnahan is running toe-to-toe against Congressman Roy Blunt. A tight race in Ohio gives Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher a great opportunity at defeating former Bush Budget Director Rob Portman. Sen. Chuck Grassley is facing the race of his life against Roxanne Colin in Iowa. These candidates, and others, CAN win - but only if we have the cash to compete coast-to-coast.

Our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline is June 30. We have $2,725,416 left to go. Every dollar we leave on the table means lost opportunities. We need you. Even $5 will make a difference!

With a map this big, it's going to take everyone to win in November. Our grassroots supporters stepped up and got the job done in 2006 and 2008. We need you in 2010.

Sincerely,

J.B. Poersch

As Executive Director of the DSCC, it's my job to make sure we have the resources to fight on all fronts.
As a former donor, it is my job to ask you where is the Public Option we wanted?

I'll give money when there is a comprehensive public option added to the health care reform.

But what is more troubling, is the Democratic majority we gave you in the Senate in 2008 accomplishes nothing without watering the legislation down in order for the Democratic Senator majority to vote aye. Disgraceful! Why should we give you money for more of the same legislative action we don't like?
