CRITICAL DEADLINE FEBRUARY 2OTH!!!

If you throw away every other fax APCI sends out, this needs to be the one you read! The deadline for pharmacists to get their comments in to CMS on the proposed rule under the Deficit Reduction Act pertaining to the Medicaid program is February 20th, and will determine if you will be reimbursed 36% below acquisition costs INDEFINTELY. APCI would like to thank everyone that participated in the recent survey to find out the overall impact of these reimbursements. As to be expected, the vast majority will no longer be able to provide services to Medicaid recipients if the proposed rule is passed. It is VITAL to the pharmacy profession that this rule is not implemented. You can help. As APCI has said, CMS has granted a window of opportunity for pharmacists to flex their political muscles by creating a comment page on their website concerning the proposed rule.

The only other method to get this important information to CMS is by express mail, as the deadline is fast approaching. The address for express or overnight mail is: Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Department of Health and Human Services Attention: CMS-2238-P Mail Stop C4-26-05 7500 Security Boulevard Baltimore, MD 21244-1850 Also, you might want to send a copy to your Member of Congress and U.S. Senators. If you do not know your Member of Congress or Senators, go to [Only registered and activated users can see links] and input your zip code, if additional information is needed the site will direct you. APCI CANNOT STRESS HOW IMPORTANT YOU PARTICIPATION IS IN THIS MATTER.
