I was listening to a clip of Nancy Pelossi talking about the role of the Speaker. The Job Role, when she thinks of it in the Third Person.

as a thing or activity.

She refers to The Speaker of The House by masculine pronouns.

doesn't that say something about North American culture? That even in our moments of singular triumph, we continue to view or role or the expectations of the role... in the terms of the Occupier.

Its that far engrained...

:party0036[1]: where even in our moments of triumph over ancient bigotries, we struggle against the culture & childhood that formed us.

It is a sad world Blue that we cannot get past the labels and the misunderstandings that are layered so deeply as a people. That we cannot embrace who we really are without the constant glance over our shoulders to see who is watching and feeling your skin crawl upon realizing the misguided and ignorant hatred they are speaking.
Race, Religion, Gender...are we not all a single race? A single gender? A single spirit called the Human Being? Do we all not laugh and cry, love and hurt? Do we all not bleed?
